We had a really fun session today, and I just wanted to share it with you all. Now that the march flowers are in bloom (can you believe that?!?!?) we had our very first spring session with Jack, Jaye, and Crider. We went to a field out at LBL, and it was just filled with yellow march flowers everywhere. We had a blast.
Jack is really fun, too. He’s that age where you can really start talking with him and there’s no telling what he’ll say. I love kids, they are usually alot more talkative than adults, and maybe I’m just strange, but alot of times I like what they have to say more than us old people!
Anyhow, Jack was telling me all about how to make muffins, he seems to be an expert. I then told him that I like to eat Lizard Muffins and Frog Muffins. He laughed (which made for some wonderful portraits) — but I think he’s convinced I’m crazy. Apparently, he went home and told his grandmother all about how I eat Lizard Muffins. He’s gonna stick with Blueberry, I should think.
Okay — I’m posting WAY too many here, I know. But these are a super quick edit (not finished quite yet!) and I just couldn’t settle for less! Let me know what you think!

Last week we had Jack in for his 1 year session. We love doing our 1-year sessions, getting to watch the kiddos grow up at each stage of life in that first year. They really are always changing. As proof of that, Laura and I noticed how much Jack is starting to look like his daddy. He seemed to take after his mom, at least up until now, but dad is really starting to shine through!
Hmmmm… maybe the same thing will happen with our son, Will? Who knows… but Jack is giving me some hope for it!

I just finished editing this session and I wanted to share it with you guys! Here is little Caleb, Justin and Shelley’s newest kiddo. We had a good time, and got some really great portraits! I’ve been working with natural window light alot more lately for newborn shoots, and I was really excited with how this first one came out. See what you guys think.
Also, don’t forget that Spring is really around the corner! The flowers in front of our house are just itching to bloom! They’ve already grown up quite a bit — so Spring is almost here! If you’d like to book a Spring session w/ us for some great portraits in bloom, we’d love to do it! Just remember that we fill up quickly during this time, so book early!

Family portrait season is here! Can you believe it? This is the time of year where weddings are starting to come to a close, and senior sessions are on nearly complete (but we have LOTS of room for any of you seniors still wanting to book!) Which means — its nearly my favorite time of year! The weather is cooling down to a perfect 60-70 degrees, the leaves will be changing, and the harvest time has come. I love the fall. It is fun, beautiful, and a perfect transition between the hot summer and frigid winter. Perfect, indeed! This is the time of year I can drink coffee all day long and get away with it, and pumpkin pie and smoked turkey are all the rage.
But it also means something else, too! With the fall season already here, its family portrait season! It sure snuck up on us all! Everyone get ready, okay? Our plan is to have a couple of Super Saturday Fall Portrait days. If you sign up ahead of time, there will be no commission fee for your 30 minute session. Plus, we’re going to have some really neat incentives and promotionals for your portraits.
With all that in mind… its time for a family portrait sneak peek, wouldn’t you say? I sure would. Here is a terrific family session we had a few days ago. We did an on location outdoor session and truly had a blast. A big thanks to the Adams. Enjoy!

I have been amiss in posting for a while. We took a week off to Florida to see my family, and while I was there, I had planned on doing the whole work-while-on-vacation thing… I know, a bad idea! So, as luck would have it, the screen on my MacBook Pro went poof! Apple’s support was great, but I didn’t get the computer fixed and back in my hands until I was back home. So — while I didn’t get anything done while on vacation, it ensured we had a great time!
Now that we’re back in the swing of things, I wanted to show a sneak peek of a little guy by the name of Crider! We had a really fun time with his session, and I think the photos are just stellar! You’re all going to love them!

Last week, Neely & Emma came into our studio for a portrait session. We decided on something really unique, fun, and totally cool – a Firelight Urban Session. Both girls were absolutely awesome, and we had a really fun time with their portrait session. I think they turned out really great! One reason I love urban sessions is that they are really relaxed and there’s just so many locations and ideas to use! It is a great combination of candid and fun, which, with kids as cute as these, make for terrific portraits! So, here’s a sneak peek!
