Lately I’ve really been spending time on honing my window light shooting. In some ways it is a whole new and different way to take portraits, and it has really been a fun challenge. But I just love the clean, soft look it provides. Here are a few window light shots of little Riley. She was easy to get posed, and she decided to touch off the first portrait with just a hint of a smile.
Perfect, huh?

We just finished a session today, and I wanted to share a sneak peek with you guys. This is little Wesley. Great name, eh? I am pretty sure mom & dad named him after me.
Anyhow — he was lots of fun, and full of great expressions! I noticed now that’s he’s really starting to grow that he is looking so much more like big brother Jackson all the time. I think Jackson will be really proud of that. I know I sure would. So, here’s a few of my favorites from Wesley’s three month session. At this stage in life, I like to take alot of portraits on their tummies looking up. Holding their heads up is a big deal, and it always gets lots of smiles from them. Plus, mom brought in his new Easter toy that the Easter Bunny gave him. Its a little giraffe, and he was lovin’ it! You can’t see it in the pictures, but he was all about it! I think I might have to buy one of those for the studio.
Let me know what you think!

Last week we had Jack in for his 1 year session. We love doing our 1-year sessions, getting to watch the kiddos grow up at each stage of life in that first year. They really are always changing. As proof of that, Laura and I noticed how much Jack is starting to look like his daddy. He seemed to take after his mom, at least up until now, but dad is really starting to shine through!
Hmmmm… maybe the same thing will happen with our son, Will? Who knows… but Jack is giving me some hope for it!

I just finished editing this session and I wanted to share it with you guys! Here is little Caleb, Justin and Shelley’s newest kiddo. We had a good time, and got some really great portraits! I’ve been working with natural window light alot more lately for newborn shoots, and I was really excited with how this first one came out. See what you guys think.
Also, don’t forget that Spring is really around the corner! The flowers in front of our house are just itching to bloom! They’ve already grown up quite a bit — so Spring is almost here! If you’d like to book a Spring session w/ us for some great portraits in bloom, we’d love to do it! Just remember that we fill up quickly during this time, so book early!

We’ve got a great treat for you today, and she comes right from Paris, TN!
Little Channing was in a wonderful mood for the whole session and she was a blast to work with. It sure helped that her big sisters did such a good job of helping Channing smile and laugh. I thought I’d post a sneak peak for you all!

I have been amiss in posting for a while. We took a week off to Florida to see my family, and while I was there, I had planned on doing the whole work-while-on-vacation thing… I know, a bad idea! So, as luck would have it, the screen on my MacBook Pro went poof! Apple’s support was great, but I didn’t get the computer fixed and back in my hands until I was back home. So — while I didn’t get anything done while on vacation, it ensured we had a great time!
Now that we’re back in the swing of things, I wanted to show a sneak peek of a little guy by the name of Crider! We had a really fun time with his session, and I think the photos are just stellar! You’re all going to love them!
